  • Details
Decoupaged Acrylic Water Pitcher is BPA free making it a perfect beverage-serving container, which includes a snap-on lid with a detachable hollow column for ice. This colorfully decorated pitcher could also be used without the lid as a striking flower vase or as stand-alone accent piece to compliment home decor. This cheerful pitcher is a wonderful gift for any special occasion... or just because.

Upcycled clear acrylic water pitcher is hand decoupaged with a combination of tissue cut-outs of custom-designed large blue butterflies and designer paper napkins cut-outs of bold, colorful wildflowers; additionally, it's hand painted with our unique color mixtures of "Pale-Blue", "Soft-White", and "Moss-Green" in a delightful gradient to compliment the decoupage design. The painted and decoupaged areas of the pitcher's exterior are coated with a water-based sealant to help protect and preserve the craft materials and will not "yellow" over time.

This decorative pitcher is Made-to-Order and will ship-out within a week after order placement, and because it is hand decoupaged and hand painted, it will be very similar but not be exactly as pictured.

NOTE: Decoupaged acrylic pitchers should be hand washed, but they should NOT be placed in soaking water. Warm water and dish detergent can be used in the interior of pitcher and for the lid and detachable ice column. The exterior painted & decoupaged areas of the pitcher should be gently wiped cleaned with a soft damp cloth and patted dry.

WHAT IS DÉCOUPAGE? Decoupage is the art or technique of decorating surfaces by applying shapes or illustrations cut from various forms of paper. According to Merriam-Webster.com, “Decoupage originated in France in the 17th century as a means of artistically decorating pieces of furniture with pictures. It took a few centuries, but by the mid-20th century decoupage became a household name in American interior decoration.”

OUR DECOUPAGE TECHNIQUE is accomplished by first selecting artistic, whimsical images from designer paper napkins. The inked design layer of the three-ply paper napkin is separated, and it is either precut to specific sections of the design, or the excess design will be trimmed after it has been applied. The décor items (such as clay pots, wood birdhouses or ornaments, and glass or metal containers) are always primed with white acrylic paint prior to applying the designs onto the surfaces. Between priming and affixing the designs, a unique acrylic paint color is created to complement the napkin design, and then the areas to be highlighted are painted with the special color-mixture. The decoupage application process requires careful placement of the delicately thin paper napkin over a layer of brushed-on decoupage glue. After the napkin is arranged on the glue, the wrinkles are gingerly but firmly smoothed-out. Then, another generous layer of glue is painted over the top of the napkin design. Once dry, the painted and decoupaged surfaces are completely covered with a clear coat of water-based polyurethane to help protect and preserve all materials from the effects of moisture. Because the finish sealant is water-based, it will not "yellow" over time.

Decoupaged items are generally recommended for indoor use. If used outside, the painted and decoupaged surfaces may need to be occasionally recoated with a water-based polyurethane for extended protection against outdoor elements.
